In its beginning run in New York City, the full length play was produced at The Actor’s Fund Arts Center, WOW Cafe Theater NYC reaching nearly 1,000 audience members. Since the Collective has traveled their collective, sharing the voices of their community/ heritage in theatres, community centers, colleges and universities across the United States.
Each performance includes a talk back, in which the cast and production crew engage the audience around topics that arise in the play including:
* Reclaimation of History/ Herstory * Community/Self Love * Spirituality * Empowerment
* Connection to Ancestry, *Colonization, Imperialism, Genocide * Sexual Exploitation * Human Trafficking
The cast and crew also give the audience insight on the way in which the rehearsal and production process has succeeded in empowering and creating opportunity for leadership development for each of the wom*n invested in growing the JoBG movement.
